POWHATAN LIFE

Participants explore the rich history of Virginia Eastern Woodland Indians through hands-on participation, artifact investigation and role-play. Students will also experience Powhatan Indian culture first hand by making stone and bone tools, grinding corn and participating in other engaging activities. They will learn the ways Powhatan citizens effectively used their environment and the different seasonal occupations in a Powhatan community. Powhatan Life meets Virginia Social Studies Standards of Learning Objectives: K.1,2.2,2.3,VS.1,VS.2,USI.3.
